Randolph is located south of Augusta on the east side of the Kennebec River at the confluence of the Cobbesseeconte Stream. Gardiner lies just across the river.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 2.23 square miles (5.78 km), of which, 2.13 square miles (5.52 km) of it is land and 0.10 square miles (0.26 km) is water.
