History

At the time of its founding, Longtown was located in Tobucksy County, Choctaw Nation, in the Indian Territory. Longtown Creek formed the boundary between Tobucksy and Gaines County.

Geography

Longtown is located at 35°13′47″N 95°31′13″W / 35.22972°N 95.52028°W / 35.22972; -95.52028 (35.229636, -95.520191). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 36.1 square miles (93 km), of which 26.5 square miles (69 km) is land and 9.5 square miles (25 km) (26.43%) is water.
