Geography

Lydia is located at 29°55′7″N 91°46′52″W / 29.91861°N 91.78111°W / 29.91861; -91.78111 (29.918553, -91.780996), about 8 miles (13 km) southeast of New Iberia, the parish seat. U.S. Route 90, a four-lane freeway, forms the northern edge of the community and leads northwest 26 miles (42 km) to Lafayette and southeast 41 miles (66 km) to Morgan City.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the Lydia CDP has a total area of 1.7 square miles (4.4 km), all land.
