Gifford is located in northwestern Hampton County at 32°51′39″N 81°14′20″W / 32.86083°N 81.23889°W / 32.86083; -81.23889 (32.860831, -81.238958). U.S. Route 321 (Columbia Highway) passes through the center of town, leading north 7 miles (11 km) to Fairfax and south 3 miles (5 km) to Luray. Hampton, the county seat, is 9 miles (14 km) to the east, and Columbia, the state capital, is 84 miles (135 km) to the north.
