Geography

Woods Bay is located in northern Lake County at 48°0′24″N 114°3′47″W / 48.00667°N 114.06306°W / 48.00667; -114.06306 (48.006749, -114.063121), on the eastern shore of the northern end of Flathead Lake. It is bordered to the north by the community of Bigfork in Flathead County. Montana Highway 35 passes through the community, leading north 5 miles (8 km) into Bigfork and south 28 miles (45 km) to Polson, the Lake county seat. Kalispell is 22 miles (35 km) northwest of Woods Bay via highways 35, 82, and 93.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the Woods Bay CDP has a total area of 1.4 square miles (3.6 km), of which 0.02 square miles (0.04 km), or 1.15%, are water.
