Geography

Three Lakes is located 16 miles (26 km) southwest of downtown Miami at 25°38′7″N 80°23′57″W / 25.63528°N 80.39917°W / 25.63528; -80.39917 (25.635372, -80.399031). It is bordered to the north by The Crossings, to the northeast by Kendall, to the east by Richmond Heights, to the south by Zoo Miami, and to the west by Country Walk. The Hammocks touches the northwest corner of Three Lakes, and Palmetto Estates touches the southeast corner.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the Three Lakes CDP has a total area of 3.9 square miles (10 km), of which 3.2 square miles (8.3 km) are land and 0.7 square miles (1.8 km), or 17.17%, are water.

The three main neighborhoods in the Three Lakes CDP are Deerwood, Three Lakes, and Bonita Lakes.
