History

Vesta was platted in 1899, and named after Vesta, Roman goddess of the hearth and home. Vesta was incorporated in 1900.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.41 square miles (1.06 km), all land. The Redwood River flows through the southeastern corner of the city.

Minnesota Highway 19 skirts the western edge of Vesta.
