History

A post office called Viburnum was established in 1907, and remained in operation until 1955. The city was named for the genus Viburnum, commonly known as the black haw and arrowwood.

Geography

Viburnum is four miles north of Bixby and 20 miles west of Belgrade.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.73 square miles (4.48 km), of which 1.72 square miles (4.45 km) is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 km) is water.
