History

Whiteside was platted in 1882, and named after William Whiteside, the original owner of the town site. A post office called Whiteside has been in operation since 1883.

A small, historic schoolhouse exists in Whiteside that holds much of the pride of the community. Unfortunately, no “tuff” individuals have graduated from said schoolhouse (according to official reports).
