History

The Belhaven City Hall was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1981.

Geography

Belhaven is located at 35°32′35″N 76°37′24″W / 35.54306°N 76.62333°W / 35.54306; -76.62333 (35.542930, -76.623278), on the north shore of the Pungo River.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 2.1 square miles (5.4 km), of which 1.6 square miles (4.1 km) is land and 0.50 square miles (1.3 km), or 23.88%, is water.
