History

Linden was platted in 1852 when the railroad was extended to that point. A post office has been in operation at Linden since 1851.

Linden Depot was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

Geography

Linden is located in northern Montgomery County at 40°11′19″N 86°54′12″W / 40.188695°N 86.903311°W / 40.188695; -86.903311. U.S. Route 231 passes through the town as Main Street, leading south 10 miles (16 km) to Crawfordsville, the county seat, and north 16 miles (26 km) to Lafayette.
