History

The development in West Livingston began in the late 20th century. The Handbook of Texas stated that the community was “probably” named after its geographic location.

Geography

West Livingston is located at 30°42′34″N 95°01′09″W / 30.709430°N 95.019249°W / 30.709430; -95.019249 (30.709430, -95.019249).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 24.0 square miles (62 km), of which, 23.9 square miles (62 km) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.10 km) of it (0.17%) is water.

West Livingston is located on the southeast shore of Lake Livingston and is north of Lake Livingston State Park. It is south of US Route 190.
