It is part of the McAllenEdinburgMission Metropolitan Statistical Area. Llano Grande means “Big Plain” in Spanish. Nearby Llano Grande State Park is popular with bird watchers and the supposed site of many ghost appearances, including the ghosts of historic figures in Texas history.
