Geography

Linn is in northern Hidalgo County at 26°33′52″N 98°7′45″W / 26.56444°N 98.12917°W / 26.56444; -98.12917 (26.564558, -98.129217), along U.S. Route 281, State Highway 186, and FM 1017. It is 22 miles (35 km) north of Edinburg, the county seat, 29 miles (47 km) north of Pharr, and 45 miles (72 km) south of Falfurrias, as well as 208 miles (335 km) south of San Antonio, all via US 281. It is also 26 miles (42 km) west of Raymondville via TX 186, and 28 miles (45 km) southeast of San Isidro, and 81 miles (130 km) southeast of Hebbronville via FM 1017.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the Linn CDP has a total area of 48.6 square miles (125.9 km), of which 48.6 square miles (125.8 km) are land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km), or 0.11%, are water.
